Exhibition Rules and Regulations

Please read below important rules and regulations that govern electrical installations at UK venues.

  • All contractors must be able to prove their competence whilst working on electrical installation ie. BECA registered, City and Guilds 2330 Pt 1 & 2 or JIB approved.

  • Adaptors are not permitted - however one 4 way trailing outlet per socket (max. 500w only) can be used. The flex on the 4 way must be no longer than 2m.

  • Each stand must have RCD protection.

  • Lighting circuits are not to exceed 1000w.

  • Any complaint regarding the installation must be reported to the official contractor in writing before the close of the event.

  • If there is no drawing supplied to indicate positions of electrical items – the contractors will install at their discretion.

  • If any lighting is shown in the centre of a stand please ensure there is a ceiling to the stand or that sufficient batten had been ordered from the stand contractor.

  • Tracks supplied by clients must be installed by the owner. The connection of the track to the electrical supply will then be made by the official electrical contractor.

  • Testing and inspection will be included on standard order form installations i.e. Socket outlets and spotlights. Where a Mains Supply only is ordered the stand contractor/exhibitor must be able to provide qualifications of competence and calibrated test equipment to enable completion of the on site paperwork to the satisfaction of the venue and local authorities.
